YENAGOA SHINES AT PROSPERITY CUP FINALS ?? The spirit of excellence radiated from Yenagoa as two of its top grassroots football clubs, Afini Ladies FC of Amarata and Eternal Grace Ministry FC (EGM FC) of Yenagoa, emerged champions at the 7th Edition of the Bayelsa Governor’s Cup (Prosperity Cup) held on June 13, 2025, at the prestigious Samson Siasia Stadium. In a display of skill and resilience, Afini Ladies FC clinched the female category title after a nail-biting 5-4 penalty shootout victory against Ezuogha Football Academy, following a tightly contested 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, EGM FC lifted the male category trophy in similar dramatic fashion, sealing a 3-2 win on penalties over Advance Dreams Football Academy after regulation time also ended in a 1-1 tie. Reacting to the victories, Chairman of Yenagoa Local Government Area, Hon. Bulodisiye Ndiwari, extended his heartfelt congratulations to both teams. He described the twin triumph as a proud moment for Yenagoa, commending the players and coaching staff for their dedication, sportsmanship, and determination. > “These victories are a clear reflection of the untapped potential and vibrant talent that exists within our communities,” Hon.
