Hon. Ndiwari Inaugurates Yenagoa Local Government Food and Nutrition Committee In a bold step toward promoting food security and improved nutrition at the grassroots level, the Mayor of Yenagoa City, Hon. Bulodisiye Ndiwari, on May 16, 2025, inaugurated the Yenagoa Local Government Food and Nutrition Committee. This strategic move aligns with a national directive from the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, aimed at addressing nutritional challenges and enhancing the well-being of residents through local solutions. The newly inaugurated committee is chaired by Hon. Enize Josephine Omavie, Vice Chairman of the Yenagoa Local Government Council. Other appointed members include: Hon. Debewari Tarila Mr. Jack Telly Ezekiel Psalm Chief John Kosikimi Lagumo Noi Harold Orufa Ebimie Apaingolo MD Mrs. Dorcas Kosipre will serve as the Secretary of the committee. Speaking at the inauguration, Hon. Ndiwari highlighted the critical role of the committee in strengthening food systems within the council. He urged members to work collaboratively, stressing that unity, commitment, and openness to ideas are key to achieving meaningful results. “No one has a monopoly on knowledge,” he noted, “and it is only through teamwork and dialogue that we can make a real impact.” In her remarks, Hon. Enize Omavie expressed deep appreciation to the Mayor for the trust placed in her and fellow members. She pledged, on behalf of the committee, to work with dedication and a strong sense of purpose to fulfill the goals of the initiative.
