The Mayor of Yenagoa City, Hon. Bulodisiye Ndiwari, today hosted the Environmental Health Officers of Yenagoa Local Government Council at the Chairman's Conference Hall. The delegation, led by Mrs. Peter Adiamologi, Director of the City Health Office Yenagoa Local Government, highlighted the purpose of their visit—to formally brief the Mayor on their roles, discuss potential collaboration, and appeal through the Chairman the State Government for their intervention in lifting their prolonged suspension from field inspections, which was initially meant to last a month but has now stretched to over three years.

Hon. Ndiwari commended the health Officers for their resilience and dedication despite the challenges they have faced. He reassured them that the state government has already set up a committee working behind the scenes to resolve the matter. He expressed optimism that, in no time, the issue would be settled, allowing them to resume their field duties.

The Mayor urged them to remain patient, emphasizing that the government has not abandoned them. Instead, it is working on a strategic plan to enhance their operations, ensuring that environmental health efforts in Yenagoa and Bayelsa State as a whole are more effective. He reiterated the importance of their work in maintaining public hygiene thereby preventing disease outbreaks in the city.

In conclusion, Hon. Ndiwari assured the workers of a strong and productive partnership with the local government. He pledged continued support towards making Yenagoa a clean, safe, and conducive environment for both residents and visitors.
